online renewal opens Oct 15 flu season: are you ready?

It's that time of the year! 2014 Online Renewal opens on October 15, 2013. If your last name begins with F, G, H, I, or J, remember to send us your Criminal Record Check requirements so you will be able to renew for 2014.

Are you going to be giving influenza and pneumococcal immunizations to clients this year? If you are, you must have completed the BCCDC Immunization course and received your certificate from CLPNBC. There is no expiry date on the certificate but it is your responsibility as an LPN to maintain your competence to immunize.

CPNRE Representative
In the August 2013 newsletter, CLPNBC posted a volunteer opportunity for an LPN, who is an educator or who works in clinical practice, to sit on a committee that develops test materials for the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam (CPNRE). We are pleased to announce that Shelly Barnes, an LPN who works at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, has been selected to represent BC.
