CLPNBC account security

11/4/2016

We have recently heard from several LPNs that they appear to have been targets of a type of fraud, which manipulates people into giving up confidential information. Such manipulation enables criminals to gain access to your passwords or bank information, or install malicious software to control your computer. The reports we have received are to do with attempts to withdraw funds from a registrant’s bank account. We have investigated these concerns. CLPNBC does not collect enough information during the registration or renewal process that would allow us or anyone else to access your online banking information.

The systems CLPNBC has in place are designed to protect the security of your personal and financial information. We regularly test for security vulnerabilities.

CLPNBC appreciates the concerns raised. We will continue to take each one seriously.

What you should know

  1. CLPNBC does not contact its registrants to request their CLPNBC account information and password.
  2. Use caution when disclosing personal or financial information.
  3. Avoid revealing personal or financial information over the phone or through email. Contact the organization yourself through a verified phone number or email address.
  4. Use different passwords for various systems that you interact with, including CLPNBC’s.
  5. Do not click on any links in an email from an unknown/untrusted sender.
