Criminal Records Review Act

The Criminal Records Review Act (the “Act”) came into effect in January 1996 and applies to all registered members of selected governing bodies.

The purpose of the Act is to:

  • protect children from physical and sexual abuse, and
  • vulnerable adults from physical, sexual, and financial abuse.

This form is not related to any other criminal record search that an applicant may have undergone in the past. Registrants who have had a previous criminal record check must undergo this search, in accordance with the Act.
