Standards of Education Committee Opportunity

The Standards of Education Committee is looking for an LPN member. The Standards of Education Committee oversees the establishment, implementation, and evaluation of the British Columbia Practical Nurse (PN) Education Program Recognition process

Knowledge & Abilities

Preference may be given to volunteers who demonstrate some of the following:

  • Proficient with computers and able to successfully navigate online platforms
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of CLPNBC’s mandateCLPNBC's discipline process and the Health Professions Act
  • Current experience in LPN practice
  • Experience in another regulated health profession
  • Experience as a Health Authority representative
  • Experience in chairing boards or committees
  • Knowledge of policy development
  • Knowledge of project management and/or development
  • Knowledge of nursing education programs
  • Knowledge of CLPNBC’s Practice Standards and Professional Standards


  • Volunteer position
    • Meal, accommodation, travel and incidental expenses may be reimbursed according to CLPNBC policy.
    • Honorariums may be claimed for committee meetings, subject to CLPNBC policy.
  • Meetings may be held in person, by telephone or by email with the possibility of an in-person orientation
  • Meetings are generally held on a monthly basis, usually during regular business hours; additional meetings are scheduled as needed. Attendance on a regular basis is expected.
