Inquiry Committee Opportunity

The Inquiry Committee is looking for members from the public. The Inquiry Committee conducts investigations into complaints and takes action in accordance with relevant legislation.

Knowledge & abilities

Preference may be given to volunteers who demonstrate some of the following:
  • Proficient with computers and able to successfully navigate online platforms
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of CLPNBC’s mandate and the Health Professions Act
  • Knowledge of the Rules of Evidence and/or administrative law
  • Knowledge of the College’s Practice Standards, Guidelines, and Code of Ethics
  • Experience with, or understanding of, drug/alcohol addictions and/or mental health issues
  • Experience with, and understanding of, alternate dispute resolution principles
  • Knowledge in policy development 

Expectations

  • Volunteer position
    • Meal, accommodation, travel and incidental expenses may be reimbursed according to CLPNBC policy
    • Honorariums may be claimed for committee meetings, subject to CLPNBC policy
  • Meetings may be held in person, by telephone or by email with the possibility of an in-person orientation
  • Meetings are generally held on a monthly basis, usually during regular business hours; additional meetings are scheduled as needed. Attendance on a regular basis is expected.
