Registration Committee Opportunity

The Registration Committee is looking for members of the public and LPN registrants to become committee members. The Registration Committee establishes the requirements for registration of a person as a registrant of CLPNBC and grants registration on that basis.

Knowledge & abilities

Preference may be given to volunteers who demonstrate some of the following:

  • Proficient with computers and able to successfully navigate online platforms
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of CLPNBC’s mandate and the Health Professions Act
  • Current experience in LPN practice (for LPN registrant member, not required of a public member)
  • Experience in another regulated health profession 
  • Experience as a Health Authority representative 
  • Experience in chairing boards or committees 
  • Knowledge of policy development 
  • Knowledge of nursing education programs 

Expectations

  • Volunteer position
    • Meal, accommodation, travel and incidental expenses may be reimbursed according to CLPNBC policy.
    • Honorariums may be claimed for committee meetings, subject to CLPNBC policy.
  • Meetings may be held in person, by telephone or by email with the possibility of an in-person orientation.
  • Meetings are generally held on monthly basis, usually during regular business hours; additional meetings are scheduled as needed. Attendance on a regular basis is expected
