Eligibility for Election

A CLPNBC registrant is eligible for election to the Board if the registrant:

  1. is a resident in the electoral district for which he or she is nominated 
  2. is not in default of payment of any monies prescribed in the Bylaws 
  3. has not had their practising registration revoked or suspended in the six years preceding the date of the election for any reason other than non-payment of fees 
  4. is the holder of a practising registration that is not subject to a term, condition or limitation arising from an incapacity, incompetence, or professional misconduct matter 
  5. has not been the subject of a finding of professional misconduct, incompetence or incapacity with respect to the registrant in the three years preceding the date of the election 

Nomination Procedure

  1. CLPNBC must notify every LPN registrant in the applicable districts(s) of the date of an election and provide information about the nomination and voting procedure. 
  2. Any LPN registrant with practising registration may nominate for office one LPN registrant who meets the eligibility requirements.
  3. All nominations must be received no later than 90 days prior to the expiry of the board term that is ending.
  4. A nominator must live in the same electoral district as their nominee.
  5. Nominees must return a completed candidate statement and information sheet by the deadline provided.
